Braque was also famously commissioned to paint a ceiling fresco at the Louvre in 1953- 'The Birds' is still on permanent display at the museum.
During the summer of 1955, Braque visited a bird sanctuary in Camargue, an experience that furthered his interest and led to many works that include birds in their compositions.Ed. 1000.
