Collection: Naomi Yang

(1964-Present) American

Yang studied visual arts as an undergrad at Harvard, and for a brief time, enrolled in graduate school for architecture (also at Harvard), before rock stardom came calling as a member of Galaxie 500, a Velvets-inspired “alternative rock band,” when such a thing still existed. Though her art is primarily music, Yang is well versed in a multitude of visual art practices, including graphic design, photography, and watercolor. Claiming she never specialized because each media to her is expressive in its own way, allowing her to embark on an interrelated aesthetic journey to create something beautiful, and something that has a certain ease: a feeling of inevitability and elegance of proportion.
