This poster was reproduced as a collotype from an etching by Marc Chagall entitled "The Apparition" which was printed originally in 1924-1925. The artist, witnessing the apparition of an angel while working on a painting is one of Chagall's most important lyrical themes. The artist is thus seen as a poet as much as a painter, using his brush instead of a pen, he translates inspiration through a visual medium.
Ed. 1,000. Ref. Sorlier # 81.
