It is hand signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. It was published by H.A Grafik, Stockholm and printed by Ateliers Desjobert, Paris, France. It is referenced and pictured in the artist's catalogue raisonnee by Tonneau-Rickelinck plate #7417.
Wifredo Lam studied in Spain under the same teacher as Salvador Dali and became a friend of Picasso after moving to Paris in 1938. After returning to Havana in 1941, Lam began producing paintings that were dominated by hybridized human-animal-vegetal figures.
