This rare and beautiful lithographic poster was published by the World Congress for General Disarmament and Peace in 1962. It was printed in different languages to reflect the international aspect of the peace conference; German Arabic, Spanish, French, English and Russian. Years earlier, in 1949, the author Louis Aragon had chosen Picasso's serene lithograph "La Colombe" (The Dove), to commemorate the very first Peace Conference in Paris. The dove was already associated with he peace movement and Picasso's unique take on the bird was joyfully received. In the years that followed, the artist agreed to provide his alluring doves for peace conferences all across Europe. Edition of 8,000 - in different languages.
