This large and striking lithograph was reproduced from an original work by Serge Poliakoff. The Master Printer that was assigned the reproduction of this work is non-other than Charles Sorlier who also worked at the Mourlot Studio with Marc Chagall, Francis Bacon and Bernard Buffet. This edition was numbered but unsigned. These proofs are annotated as proofs of the Mourlot Studio. 

Ed. 150 and a further 30 H.C. proof.

From 1935 to 1937 Poliakoff studied at the Slade School of Art in London (he also had bit parts as a musician in a few films while there). On his return to Paris he met Kandinsky, whose influence turned Poliakoff to abstract painting. Others who had profound influences on him were Robert and Sonia Delaunay. From 1951 on he exhibited internationally, in London, New York, Tokyo, Belgium, Italy and Scandinavia.

His Print were also a major part of his work oeuvre.
